Prof. Yongming Luo is the director of the East Asia Node, Future Earth Coasts (FEC), and the acting director of Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (YIC-CAS). He obtained his PhD degree in soil chemistry at the Queen’s University of Belfast in the UK in 1997. Since 1998 he has been a professor of the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Nanjing. He was also appointed as a professor at the Zhejiang University in 2000. During the period from 2008 to 2011, he was also the director of the Key Laboratory of Soil Environment and Pollution Remediation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Yongming Luo was appointed as a vice director and professor at YIC-CAS in February 2011 and the acting director in November 2011.
365bet线上网投Research interests of Dr. Yongming Luo mainly focus on soil chemistry, soil pollution and remediation, regional soil environmental quality and risk management. He has more than 20 years of experience in fundamental and applied researches in the areas of soil chemistry and remediation sciences with more than 300 (co-)authored scientific papers and 10 book chapters and books. He has also obtained 9 patents in China. In the last decade, Dr. Yongming Luo has headed more than 20 large (inter)national multidisciplinary research projects which includes 4 projects of international cooperation with the UK, the Netherland, Australia and Japan funded by Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). He was awarded the “National Outstanding Young Scientist” by NSFC in 2001, and rated one of the “100 Outstanding Young Scientists” by CAS in 2000. Furthermore, Dr. Yongming Luo holds several important academic positions in soil environment and pollution remediation. He is the chief-scientist of National High-tech Research and Development Projects (863) of the MOST, the expert group member of the Geoscience Division in the NSFC, member of the Committee of Ecological and Environmental Science and Technology of the CAS, member of ICOBTE, member of the International Society of Phytotechnology, general-secretary of the Global Soil Remediation Network-Asian Centre. He is also the associated editor of Soil (a Chinese journal) and a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Phytoremediation and of the Chinese Science Bulletin. Besides, he used to be the chief-scientist of State Major Basic Research and Development Program (973) of the MOST, consultant member and deputy group leader for the National Soil Contamination Survey of Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, expert group member of “863” projects in the field of Resource and Environment of MOST, chairman of Soil Environment Committee, Chinese Society of Soil Science.

Prof. Jian Lu is currently holding the position of Professor at Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). He has been a distinguished professor of the One Hundred-Talent Plan of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) since?November, 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from?Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008 and MSc degree from Zhejiang University in 2004. His research interests mainly focus on water resource and environment. He has more than 10 years of experience in fundamental and applied research on water environment and pollution remediation. His recent work has focused on coastal water resource and environment, especially water recycling and reuse. Dr. Jian Lu has published more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers. Dr. Jian Lu has headed or participated in more than 10 (inter)national research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Natural Science Foundation (NSF), National food and Agriculture Research Institute (NIFA), Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST), and Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). Dr. Jian Lu holds several important academic positions in the field of water resource and environment.?He is currently serving as the coordinator of the East Asia Node of Future Earth Coasts (FEC) and the committee member of the IWA specialist group of pretreatment of industrial wastewaters. He has served on the Editorial Boards of several international journals including the Journal of Chemistry (Lead Guest Editor). Besides, Dr. Jian Lu has frequently been invited as speakers or session chairs for many international conference, which strongly shows his international reputation and standing in his research area. He also served as reviewers for more than 20 international journals such as Bioresource Technology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Chemosphere and others.?

Ms. Chengfei Ying now works as a secretary of the?FEC East Asia Node, Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, mainly assisting in handling the general affairs of the office. She obtained her M.A. degree in English Language and Literature at Nanjing Normal University in China in 2007. During the period from 2007 to 2012, she has worked as a Lecturer in English Teaching at Zhejiang Agricultural & Forestry University in Hangzhou. She is a member of the Translators Association of Zhejiang Province. While in 2011-2012, she has been a visiting scholar at the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture, Texas A&M University in America. Her research interests mainly focus on 1) Translation Theories and Practice; 2) ESL education. She has been involved in some projects in these fields and published many articles and one book in English. Furthermore, Ms. Chengfei Ying is also interested in English Public Speaking. She has tutored many students and coached some of them to win prizes in various competitions.
